In 1988, HealthScope began creating software systems to streamline the executive decision-making process in Hospitals. It was a developer's dream, born from practical experience in the health care arena, to alleviate the shared frustration of many executives who tried to collect data from multiple sources and translate it into meaningful information.

 

Several Hospital executives quickly realized how simple our systems were to operate,  then became even more impressed as they saw how useful the data was in managing many areas of Hospital operations. It wasn't long before they began to share information across department lines to answer many questions.

 

Based on keeping in close contact with our customers, we made strides in refining our products to make them even more accommodating to even the newest computer user. Because we've been successful in this endeavor, over 70 Hospitals are using our products.

 

HealthScope is now an associate member with the American Hospital Association, Member of the South Florida Hospital Association and also a member of the Florida Society for Healthcare Public Relations & Marketing.

 

We will continue striving to help Hospital executives find information that can support decisions that have a positive impact on their facility. We would like to take a moment and thank all the Hospitals that have supported us through the years and we will continue to can provide the same level of support to future clients.

Bill Sampsel

HealthScope's founder, Bill Sampsel, brings over twenty years of experience in the health care information industry. He has earned the reputation of providing Healthcare Executives invaluable information about Market Research, Product (DRG) Utilization, Strategic Health Planning, and other important areas, always with the emphasis to help Hospital executives in their efforts to make informed decisions.

 

HealthScope products are being used by over 90 Hospitals in Ohio and we are attempting to expand into other states as well.

 

Prior to starting HealthScope in 1988, Bill was involved in managing business information projects for Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, he assisted the Information Technology Department in setting up information databases used by upper level executives in their Planning, Marketing, and Quality control departments. He also assisted the Finance Department in the initial stages of defining a cost accounting system.

 

After Graduate school in 1984, Bill started his Healthcare career as a Market Research Analyst for Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, he assisted the Planning, Marketing, and Physician Recruitment departments setting up databases and supplying  top level executives with information requests used in their decision making process.

 

Bill earned a Master of  Business Administration from Wright State University with an undergraduate degree in Business/Computer Science. He also holds several certificates for completion of courses such as SQL Server, Visual Basic, and MS Office.

 

Bill also was elected and served on the Marysville City Council. Here he worked with city budgets, legislative decisions, and city policy.
